SJ23 Tandem Axle Conversion - Lynn Cook. |

| Lynn followed the suggestions in the Trailer
Tech Tips to convert her trailer from a single axle to a tandem. This
is one of several trailers that have used the dimensions shown in
Tech Tip A10. The centerline of the new
carriage was placed at the same position as the previous single axle which
resulted in a hitch weight of 300 lbs, measured.
"We traveled only 30 miles at freeway speeds and found the trailer to be very stable. With all the extra steel under the frame, it is a very beefy installation. The fenders go on next and then it will be wired and painted in Spring."
