First Aid Kit - Bleeding, other.

I've had a first aid kit on Panache since the second year I've owned her.  Each year I vow to upgrade the first aid kit to something more substantial.  So far I have only had to deal with a cut, a skin pinch, splinters, a shin bashing and a rope burn or two.  I'm voting for no more of these!

The first order of business was to transfer all the contents from my existing vinyl first aid kit to a water proof Pelican Case to prevent contamination.  It has a clear lid so I can see inside without contaminating the contents.  Sure makes it a lot quicker to find stuff or indentify content to a crew member.

BLEEDING

  1. Band aids.  Most first aid kits never have enough and they get used way more than gauze & tape.
  2. Gauze & tape.
  3. Scissors, tweezers, needle, magnifying lens.
  4. Abbreviated first aid guide.
  5. Consider how many people on board and are there enough supplies to deal with a major injury?

OTHER

  1. Disinfectant spray.  (burns, punctures, scrapes).
  2. Polysporin cream.  (burns).
  3. Aspirin, 200MG tablets.  (head ache)  Take 2 as a precautionary to heart attack or stroke.
  4. Tylenol. (head ache, fever).
  5. Ibuprofen (head ache, fever, muscle & joint pain).
  6. Sun tan lotion. (SPF 30).
